Introduction

We warmly welcome you to the Cradles 2 Crayons website! Please feel free to browse our site and learn about our licensed group child care center soon to join the Durand community.

Cradles 2 Crayons is a place that children can consider their second home … a place where they are accepted and loved … a place where laughter and play are cherished … and a place where children’s talents and learning styles are recognized and built upon.

Cradles 2 Crayons is available for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. Programs offered are infant, toddler, and elementary. We also offer before/after school care, and drop-in care (based on availability).

Our Philosophy

Childhood is a time like no other. It’s a time for exploring … for creating … for discovering about oneself … for meeting the world … for establishing how to learn … and for being accepted “just the way I am.” It’s a time for blossoming and being cherished … and the opportunity to simply be a child.

Our child care center staff are committed to the belief that children can achieve … that is, they CAN DO a lot. It is the role of the caregivers to build upon those things that children are able to do. We believe most of life’s learning, including how to learn, occurs in the first five years of life. Since each child learns at his/her own pace, our staff will look at each child to determine the next stage of development. This ‘can do’ approach is the basis of our philosophy for the center. This ‘can do’ viewpoint allows our society’s precious future to become confident and to enjoy successes in an atmosphere of respect, warmth and love.

Time and time again, research has shown us that THE main component of sound, quality child care is a trained, sensitive adult as the caregiver. At Cradles 2 Crayons we vow to respond to each child's unique needs in a manner that will ensure optimal social, emotional and educational results.
